Μέτρια βροχή για δύο ακόμη μέρες (19, 20 Νοε) και σήμερα το γύρισε σε βοριαδάκι. Επισκέφτηκα όλους τους παράκτιους υγρότοπους από τα Μέσσα μέχρι τη Νυφίδα (ανατολικά παράλια Κόλπου Καλλονής). Τα αναμενόμενα του προχωρημένου φθινοπώρου, ακολουθούν οι πιο ενδιαφέρουσες παρατηρήσεις:

13 Καστανόπαπιες (Tadorna ferruginea)- στα Μέσσα

9 Αργυροτσικνιάδες (Casmerodius albus)

5 Σταχτοτσικνιάδες (Ardea cinerea)

4 Λευκοτσικνιάδες (Egretta garzetta)

6 Μαυροπελαργοί (Ciconia nigra)- 1 στα Μέσσα, 5 στην Αλυκή Πολυχνίτου

52 Φοινικόπτερα (Phoenicopterus roseus)- στα Μέσσα και πολλά ακόμα στην Αλυκή Πολυχνίτου

9 Κορμοράνοι (Phalacrocorax carbo)

2 Τουρλίδες (Numenius arquata)

21 Ασημόγλαροι (Larus michahellis)

1 Καστανοκέφαλος Γλάρος (Larus ridibundus)

5 Αλκυόνες (Alcedo atthis)- Μέσσα και Βούβαρη

1 Ξεφτέρι (Accipiter nisus)

Before the declaration of the reserve (Tsiknias to Messa, after 2009) it was not possible to see them there but after March, when the hunting season is over.

Αρκετές οι διαφορές τους, η πιο βασική είναι το μαύρο στις κλειστές φτερούγες. | Black-headed (left) (Croicocephalus ridibundus) and Mediterranean Gull (Ichthyaetus melanocephalus) at the Farmakies port. They have a number of differences most sticking of which is the black at the end of the closed wings.

 

Rain again on two more days (19, 20 Nov) and today the wind started blowing from the North. I visited all the coastal wetlands from Messa to Nifida Marsh (east coastline of the Kalloni Gulf). Nothing more than the expected of late Autumn, here are my most interesting sightings:

13 Ruddy Shalducks (Tadorna ferruginea)- at Messa

9 Great White Egrets (Casmerodius albus)

5 Grey Herons (Ardea cinerea)

4 Little White Egrets (Egretta garzetta)

6 Black Storks (Ciconia nigra)- 1 at Messa, at least 5 at the Polichnitos Salt Pans

52 Flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus)- at Messa, also decades present at the Polichnitos Salt Pans

9 Cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo)

2 Curlews (Numenius arquata)

21 Yellow-legged Gulls (Larus michahellis)

1 Black-headed Gull (Croicocephalus ridibundus)

5 Kingfishers (Alcedo atthis)- Messa and Vouvaris

1 Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus)
