The N, NW winds have started subsiding today giving place to a rice in temperature (36 ̊C at 14:00). I visited the Kalloni Salt Pans in the morning (didn’t perform a complete count, though). Here is what I found:

25+ Καστανόπαπιες (Tadorna ferruginea)

4 Μαυροπελαργοί (Ciconia nigra)

8 Ποταμοσφυριχτές (Charadrius dubius), 3 Θαλασσοσφυριχτές (Ch. alexandrinus)

1 Ραβδοσκαλίδρα (Limnicola falcinellus)

7 Σταχτιές Νανοσκαλίδρες (Calidris temminckii), 5 Νανοσκαλίδρες (C. minuta)

12 Λασπότρυγγες (Tringa glareola), 4 Δασότρυγγες (T. ochropus)

5 Ακτίτες (Actitis hypoleucos), 80+ Κοκκινοσκελήδες (Tringa totanus)

3 Πρασινοσκελήδες (Tringa nebularia), 1 Βαλτότρυγγας (T. stagnatilis)

2 Τουρλίδες (Numenius arquata)

80+ Καστανοκέφαλοι Γλάροι (Croicocephalus ridibundus)

1 Κουκουβάγια (Athene noctua)

3 Τσαλαπετεινοί (Upupa epops), 5+ Μελισσοφάγοι (Merops apiaster)

20+ Κιτρινοσουσουράδες (Motacilla flava), 5+ Λευκοσουσουράδες (Mot. alba)

1 Κουφαηδόνι (Cercotrichas galactotes)

3 Κοκκινοκεφαλάδες (Lanius senator)- 1 νεαρό

1 Βραχοκιρκίνεζο (Falco tinnunculus)

ΕΠΙΣΗΣ: Φλαμίνγκο (600+), Αβοκέτες και Καλαμοκανάδες, Ποταμογλάρονα και Νανογλάρονα, Καστανοκέφαλοι Γλάροι, Σταχτοτσικνιάδες και Λευκοτσικνιάδες κ.ά.

12 Wood Sandpipers (Tringa glareola), 4 Green Sandpipers (T. ochropus)

5 Common Sandpipers (Actitis hypoleucos), 80+ Redshanks (Tringa totanus)

3 Greenshanks (Tringa nebularia), 1 Marsh Sandpiper (T. stagnatilis)

2 Curlews (Numenius arquata)

80+ Black-headed Gulls (Croicocephalus ridibundus)

3 Woodchat Shrikes (Lanius senator)- 1 juvenile
