Τα μελτέμια συνεχίζονται, το ίδιο και η ζέστη, όμως. Η μετανάστευση έχει γίνει εμφανής και για τα μικρόπουλα. Ακολουθούν τα πιο ενδιαφέροντα που παρατήρησα χθές το πρωί:

3 Αργυροπελεκάνοι (Pelecanus crispus)

15 Αργυροτσικνιάδες (Casmerodius albus), 35 Λευκοτσικνιάδες (Egretta garzetta)

8 Μαυροπελαργοί (Ciconia nigra), 3 Χουλιαρομύτες (Platalea leucorodia)

1700+ Φλαμίνγκο (97 νεαρά, γενημένα φέτος που αυτές τις μέρες μας έφτασαν από Τουρκία όπου αναπαράγονται)

750+ Αβοκέτες (Recurvirostra avocetta), 25 Καλαμοκανάδες (Himantopus himantopus)

4 Πετροτουρλίδες (Stone Curlews)

13 Πρασινοσκέληδες (Tringa nebularia), 4 Βαλτότρυγγες (Tringa stagnatilis)

30 Λεπτοραμφόγλαροι (Croicocephalus genei) σε ένα αποκομμένο κοπάδι

Στα λιβάδια της Αλυκής είχε νωρίς αρκετά μεταναστευτικά  μικρόπουλα (ειδικά στα βόρεια, νωρίς το πρωί): 3 Καστανολαίμηδες (Saxicola rubetra)- οι 1οι μου γι αυτό το Φθινόπωρο. Αρκετοί ήταν και οι Σταχτοπετροκλήδες (Oenanthe oenanthe), και λίγοι Θαμνοφυλλοσκόποι (Phylloscopus trohilus) και Σταχτομυγοχάφτες (Muscicapa striata) αλλά και οι πρώτοι νεαροί Αετομάχοι (Lanius collurio) ανάμεσα στους ακόμη πολλούς Σταχτοκεφαλάδες (Lanius minor)- είδα μόνο ένα νεαρό Κοκκινοκεφαλά (Lanius senator)… Επίσης αρκετές Κιτρινοσουσουράδες, 15+ Μελισσοφάγοι, 1 Τσαλαπετεινός και μικρές ομάδες (10-15 πουλιά) από Χωραφοχελίδονα και Σταχτάρες.

Από αρπακτικά: 1 Φιδαετός (Circaetus gallicus), 2 Λιβαδόκιρκοι (Circus pygargus), 2 Βραχοκιρκίνεζα (Falco tinnunculus)

The North winds continue with cool nights but still very hot days (34 °C). Migration is quite obvious by now for also some more passerine species. Here are the highlights of what I recorded yesterday morning:

3 Dalmatian Pelicans (Pelecanus crispus)

15 Great White Egrets (Casmerodius albus), 35 Little Egrets (Egretta garzetta)

8 Back Storks (Ciconia nigra), 3 Spoonbills (Platalea leucorodia)

1700+ Flamingos (97 juveniles, a great influx of birds these last days from the Turkish population, where the species breeds)

750+ Αβοκέτες (Recurvirostra avocetta), 25 Black-winged Stilts (Himantopus himantopus)

4 Stone Curlews (Stone Curlews)

13 Green Shanks (Tringa nebularia), 4 Marsh Sandpipers (Tringa stagnatilis)

30 Slender-billed Gulls (Croicocephalus genei) in a single foraging flock

In the fields around the Kalloni Pans there were many migrating passerines (especially in the north ones, early in the morning): 3 Winchats (Saxicola rubetra)- my 1st for this Aurtumn. Several juvenile Northen Wheathears (Oenanthe oenanthe) a few Willow Warblers (Phylloscopus trohilus) and Spotted Flycatchers (Muscicapa striata) but also the first juvenile Red-backed Shrikes (Lanius collurio) among the numerous still Lesser Grey Shrikes (Lanius minor)- I only managed to spot a single juv. Woodchat Shrike (Lanius senator)… Finally several Yellow Wagtails (Motacilla flava), 15+ Bee-eaters (Merops apiaster), 1 Hoopoe (Upupa epops) and small goups of (10-15 birds) Barn /Red-rumped Swallows (Hirundo rustica/ H. daurica) and others of Swifts (Apus apus).

Raptors: 1 Short-toed Eagle (Circaetus gallicus), 2 Montagu’s Harriers (Circus pygargus), 2 Kestrels (Falco tinnunculus).
