Έβρεχε όλο το πρωί και προσπαθούσα να κανονίσω οπωσδήποτε να πεταχτώ στην Αλυκή όταν θα έχει σταματήσει η βροχή. Τα κατάφερα αργά το απόγευμα και έζησα μια από τις πιο αξέχαστες επισκέψεις παρατήρηση πουλιών. Δεν ξέρω καν πως να την περιγράψω, γι αυτό ας τα πάρουμε με τη σειρά που τα έχει ο οδηγός πουλιών:
82 Ψαλίδες (Anas acuta) στον Κόλπο Καλλονής, δεν έχω δει ποτέ στη Λέσβο μεγαλύτερο κοπάδι
10 Ποταμοσφυριχτές (Charadrius dubius) στην ίδια μια μικρή ομάδα
2 Βαλτότρυγγες (Tringa stagnatilis), 1 Στρειδοφάγος (Haematopus ostralegus)
1 Αγκαθοκαλημάνα (Vanellus spinosus) ανάμεσα στο πλήθος των Κιτρινοσουσουράδων- η 1η μου γι αυτή την Άνοιξη!
1 Κισσόκουκος (Clamator glandarius) ο 1ος μου γι αυτή την Άνοιξη. Και να δηλώσω εδώ πως δεν έχω δει πιο ήμερο, άγριο πουλί…
πολλές δεκάδες Κιτρινοσουσουράδες (Motacilla flava)- κυρίως της φυλής feldegg και τα πρώτα θηλυκά άτομα για φέτος
δεκάδες Λευκοσουσουράδες (Motacilla alba), Σταυλοχελίδονα (Hirundo rustica) και Σπιτοχελίδονα (Delichon urbicum) και πολύ λίγα Μιλτοχελίδονα (Cecropsis daurica)
1 Καστανολαίμης (Saxicola rubetra)- ο 1ος μου γι αυτή την Άνοιξη!
1 Πετρίτη(Falco peregrinus), 2 Καλαμόκιρκους (Circus aeroginosus)
It rained all day today and decided to pay a brief afternoon visit to the Kalloni Salt Pans area. I can’t decide how to present what I saw… will go by the order in the bird-book:
82 Pintails (Anas acuta) in the Kalloni Gulf, haven’t seen so many before on Lesvos
10 Little Ringed Plovers(Charadrius dubius) in a single small flock
2 Marsh Sandpipers ( Tringa stagnatilis), 1 Oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus)
1 Spur-winged Plover (Vanellus spinosus) in the middle of the Yellow Wagtail… crowd
1 Great Spotted Cuckoo (Clamator glandarius) never seen a wild bird as tame as this one before…
many tens of Yellow Wagtails (Motacilla flava)- mostly the feldegg race and the first time I spotted a few females
tens of White Wagtails (Motacilla alba), Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica) and House Martins (Delichon urbicum) and only a few Red-rumped Swallows (Cecropsis daurica)
1 Whinchat (Saxicola rubetra)- my 1st for this Spring!
1 Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus), 2 Marsh Harriers (Circus aeroginosus)
Lesvos Bird News
