Έκανα την ημερίσια βόλτα στην Αλυκή Καλλονής (κατάμήκος Τσικνιά προς νότια περιοχή της) και λίγο παραπέρα προσπαθώντας να ξαναβρω τις νεοφερμένες Χαλκόκοτες! Ακολουθούν τα καλύτερα που είδα:
ΑΛΥΚΗ ΚΑΛΛΟΝΗΣ νότια περιοχή
18 Χαλκόκοτες (Plegadis falcinellus)- οι 1ες γι αυτή την Άνοιξη! Τις εντόπισα να έρχονται ψηλά πάνω από τον Κόλπο Καλλονής και να συνεχίζουν κανονικά βόρεια (είχα ήδη ευχηθεί καλό ταξίδι κλπ.) όταν έστριψαν και άρχισαν να πετούν χαμηλότερα πάνω από την Αλυκή. Λίγες στιγμές αργότερα πέρασαν ακριβώς από πάνω μου (ναι, παραλίγο να το πάθω το εγκεφαλικό), μετά πάλι πάνω από τη θάλασσα και κατευθύνθηκαν προς τα Μέσσα.
7 Καλαμοκανάδες (Himantopus himantopus), 10 Λιμόζες (Limosa limosa)
8 Ποταμοσφυριχτές (Charadrius dubius), 6 Δασότρυγγες (Tringa ochropus)
2 Λεπτοραμφόγλαροι (Croicocephalus genei)
1 Κισσόκουκος (Clamator glandarius)- αυτή τη φορά ένα ενήλικο άτομο!
25 Κιτρινοσουσουράδες (Motacilla flava), 2 Σταχτοπετρόκληδες (Oenanthe oenanthe)
1 Σαΐνι (Accipiter gentilis)
όχι πολλά χελιδονοειδή σήμερα (μόνο κατά μήκος του Τσικνιά) αλλά αρκετές Σταχτάρες (15-20)…
ΈΛΟΣ ΚΑΝΤΡΙ (ανάμεσα σε Αλυκή και Μέσσα)
145 Καστανοκέφαλοι Γλάροι (Croicocephalus ridibundus)
285 Μαυροκέφαλοι Γλάροι (Larus melanocephalus)- έχει ξεκινήσει το πέρασμά τους για τα καλά
ΜΕΣΣΑ
3 Καλαμοκανάδες (Himantopus himantopus)
1 Μαυροπελαργός (Ciconia nigra)
ΘΑΛΑΣΣΑ έξω από Μέσσα (από το σημείο του καινούργιου παρατηρητηρίου)
77 Μύχοι της Μεσογείου (Puffinus yelkouan), σε πολύ καλή απόσταση για παρατήρηση!
25 Σκουφοβουτηχτάρες (Podiceps cristatus)

Had the daily pass from the Kalloni Pans (down along Tsiknias River) today and a little further trying to spot again the newly arrived Glossy Ibisses! Here are the highlights of what I saw:
KALLONI SALT PANS south area
18 Glossy Ibisses (Plegadis falcinellus)- 1st for this Spring! Spotted them coming out of the Kalloni Gulf sea and continuing north (I had already wished them good luck etc) when they turned and started flying low over the Pans. A few moments later they passed just above me (yes I nearly got a heart attach), again over the sea and headed towards Messa.
7 Black-winged Stilts (Himantopus himantopus), 10 Black-tailed Godwits (Limosa limosa)
8 Little Ringed Plovers (Charadrius dubius), 6 Green Sandpipers (Tringa ochropus)
2 Slender-billed Gulls (Croicocephalus genei)
1 Great Spotted Cuckoo (Clamator glandarius)- this time an adult bird!
25 Yellow Wagtails (Motacilla flava), 2 Northern Wheatears (Oenanthe oenanthe)
1 Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis)
not many hirundines around (just along Tsiknias River) today but a few Swifts (15-20)…
KANTRI MARSH (between the Pans and Messa)
145 Black-headed Gulls (Croicocephalus ridibundus)
285 Mediterranean Gulls (Larus melanocephalus)- a well started passage for them
MESSA
3 Black-winged Stilts (Himantopus himantopus)
1 Black Stork (Ciconia nigra)
SEA off Messa (as checked by the new observatory at the corner just after Messa)
77 Yelkouan Shearwaters (Puffinus yelkouan), in very good observation distance!
25 Great Crested Grebes (Podiceps cristatus)
