Λιακάδα μετά από μέρες συννεφιάς με κρύο από το μέτριας έντασης βοριαδάκι (14 ºC μέγιστη θερμοκρασία). Κινήθηκα από την Αλυκή Καλλονής μέχρι το έλος Σκάλας Καλλονής, ελέγχοντας όπου μπορούσα και τη θάλασσα, για 3 ώρες γύρω στο μεσημέρι και μισή ώρα πριν το σούρουπο. Ακολουθούν οι πιο ενδιαφέρουσες καταγραφές:
50 + Καστανόπαπιες (Tadorna ferruginea), 15 Μύχοι της Μεσογείου (Puffinus yelkuan)
1 Ήταυρος (Botaurus stellaris), μου τον έδειξε ο Σπύρος Σκαρέας (Greece Bird Tours), στο έλος Σκάλας Καλλονής
1 Χαλκόκοτα (Plegadis falcinellus) στα λιβάδια νότια της Αλυκής Καλλονής και 19 ακόμη το σούρουπο να πετάνε βόρεια
3 Χουλιαρομύτες (Platalea leucorodia), 1 Μαυροπελαργός (Ciconia nigra)
2 Στεπόκιρκοι (Circus macrourus) ενήλικα αρσενικά, ενώ είχα δει δύο την προηγούμενη μέρα
3 Καλαμόκιρκοι (C. aeroginosus), 1 Αετογερακίνα (Buteo rufinus)
2 Φιδαετοί (Circaetus gallicus), πέρασαν κατευθείαν για βόρεια
12 Καλαμοκανάδες (Himantopus himantopus), 375 Αβοκέτες (Recurvirostra avocetta)
35 Ποταμοσφυριχτές (Charadrius dubius), 15 Αμμοσφυριχτές (Charadrius alexandrinus)
2 Λασπότρυγγες (Tringa glareola), 2 Πρασινοσκέληδες (Tr. nebularia)
21 Σιλίγουροι (Numenius phaeopus), 2 Μαχητές (Philomachus pugnax)
150+ Μαυροκέφαλοι Γλάροι (Larus melanocephalus)
2 Κισσόκουκοι (Clamator glandarius), μαζί!
6 Γκιώνηδες (Otus scops) στο άλσος της Αγίας Τριάδας (Καλλονή)
εκατοντάδες Σταχτάρες (Apus apus) ενώ εντόπισα και 10+ Ωχροσταχτάρες (Apus pallidus)
2 Τσαλαπετεινοί (Upupa epops)
8 Μικρογαλιάνδρες (Calandrella brachydactyla)
εκατοντάδες Σταυλοχελίδονα (Hirundo rustica) και Σπιτοχελίδονα (Delichon urbicum) να τρέφονται χαμηλά πάνω από τους υγρότοπους
8 Μιλτοχελίδονα (Cecropsis daurica), 3 Οχθοχελίδονα (Riparia riparia)
4 Ωχροκελάδες (Anthus campestris), 120 Κιτρινοσουσουράδες (Motacilla flava)
10+ Σταχτοπετρόκληδες (Oenanthe oenanthe), 6 Καστανολαίμηδες (Saxicola rubetra)- οι 5 στην ίδια ομάδα!
2 Κοκκινοκεφαλάδες (Lanius senator), 2 Χωραφοσπουργήτες (Passer hispaniolensis)

Sunshine with cool north wind (14 ºC max temperature for the day). I moved between the Kalloni Salt Pans and Skala Kalloni for 3 hours around noon and half an hour before dusk. Here are the most interesting findings:
50 + Ruddy Shelducks (Tadorna ferruginea), 15 Yelkouan Shearwaters (Puffinus yelkuan)
1 Bittern (Botaurus stellaris),shown to me by Spyros Skareas (Greece Bird Tours) in the Skalla Kalloni Marsh
1 Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) in the fields south of the Kalloni Pans, and 19 more flying north at dusk
3 Spoonbills (Platalea leucorodia), 1 Black Stork (Ciconia nigra)
1 Pallid Harrier (Circus macrourus) adult male – I saw 2 adult males the previous day!
3 Marsh Harriers (C. aeroginosus), 1 Long-legged Buzzard (Buteo rufinus)
2 Short-toed Eagles (Circaetus gallicus), heading north straight away!
12 Black-winged Stilts (Himantopus himantopus), 375 Avocets (Recurvirostra avocetta)
35 Little Ringed Plovers (Charadrius dubius), 15 Kentish Plovers (Charadrius alexandrinus)
2 Wood Sandpipers (Tringa glareola), 2 Greenshanks (Tr. nebularia)
21 Whrimpels (Numenius phaeopus), 2 Ruffs (Philomachus pugnax)
150+ Mediterranean Gulls (Larus melanocephalus)
2 Great Spotted Cuckoos (Clamator glandarius), together!
6 Scops Owls (Otus scops) in the small eucalyptus park of Agia Triada (Kalloni)
hundreds of Swifts (Apus apus) and 10+ Pallid Swifts (Apus pallidus)
2 Hoopoes (Upupa epops)
8 Short-toed Lark (Calandrella brachydactyla)
hundreds of Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica) and House Martins (Delichon urbicum) feeding and resting by the freshwater wetlands
8 Red-rumped Swallows (Cecropsis daurica), 3 Sand Martins (Riparia riparia)
4 Tawny Pipits (Anthus campestris), 120 Yellow Wagtails (Motacilla flava)
10+ Northern Wheathers (Oenanthe oenanthe), 6 Winchats (Saxicola rubetra)- 5 of them in the same group!
2 Woodchat Shrikes (Lanius senator), 2 Spanish Sparrows (Passer hispaniolensis)
