N. Kalloni Gulf, end of November- Β. Κόλπος Καλλονής, τέλη Νοεμβρίου

Στη φωτογραφία μια ομάδα 8 Αργυροτσικνιάδων ψαρεύει ανάμεσα σε Φοινικόπτερα.

Πολύ κρύο από τις 23 μέχρι τις 27 του μηνός με θερμοκρασίες που έπεφταν τη νύχτα στους 7 °C και δεν ξεπερνούσαν τους 14 °C την ημέρα, βόρειο άνεμο και συννεφιά. Από χθες έσπασε το κρύο και η σημερινή ημέρα ήταν συννεφιασμένη μεν όμως χωρίς σχεδόν καθόλου άνεμο και ευχάριστη ξανά θερμοκρασία. Επισκέφτηκα τους υγρότοπους από τον Ποταμό Βούβαρη μέχρι και την Αλυκή Καλλονής και την περιοχή πάνω από την τελευταία στις 29 Νοεμβρίου (7:15 με 12:00). Ακολουθούν οι πιο ενδιαφέρουσες παρατηρήσεις (περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες στον ΟΡΝΙΘΟΤΟΠΟ):

ΠΕΡΙΟΧΗ ΠΑΝΩ ΑΠΟ ΤΗΝ ΑΛΥΚΗ ΚΑΛΛΟΝΗΣ (βοσκοτόπια και ελαιώνες)

Τα καθιερωμένα για την εποχή πολύ κοινά είδη (Κοκκινολαίμης, Καρβουνιάρης, Λιβαδοκελάδα κλπ) και επίσης κοινά διαχειμάζοντα κοπάδια από Σπίνους, Καρδερίνες, Σκαρθάκια, Φλώρους, Τσιφτάδες, Ψαρόνια κλπ. Σήμερα οι Κοκκοθραύστες έκαναν… θραύση καθώς παρατήρησα αρκετά μικρού μεγέθους κοπάδια (95 πουλιά στο σύνολο) και ένα αρκετά μεγάλο, για τα δεδομένα της περιοχής, κοπάδι από Σταρήθρες (≥ 200 πουλιά). Από αρπακτικά μόνο ένα Ξεφτέρι (Accipiter nisus).

The weather was very cold from the 23rd to the 27th of November with temperatures dropping during the night to 7 °C and not higher than 14 °C during the day, North wind and total overcast. Since yesterday it became milder with nearly no wind at all and very pleasant temperatures (12-18°C).

I visited the coastal wetlands from Vouvaris River to the Kalloni Salt Pans together with the fields above the Kalloni Pans on the 29th of November (7:15 to 12:00). Here are my interesting sightings (more details on ORNITHOTOPOS):

The expected common wintering species: Robin (Erithacus rubecula), Black Redstar (Phoenicurus phoenicurus), Meadow Pipit (Anthus pratensis) etc. and also common overwintering flocks of Chaffinches (Fringila coelebs), Goldfinches (Caruelis carduelis), Greenfinches (Carduelis chloris), Serins (serinus serinus), Corn Buntings (Milliaria calandra), Starlings (Sturnus vulgaris), Woodlarks (Lullula arborea). Today I was happy to actually watch (I usually hear them overpassing) several small flocks of Hawfinches (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) -95 birds in total- and a rather big flock of 200 Skylarks (Alauda arvensis). One Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) was the only raptor present there.
