Happy New Year everyone!

One of the New-year’s resolutions for me (since I am back living on the island again) is to start writing posts on my blog…

This is a Merlin (Falco columbarius) I got in Messa wetland on the 23rd of December- ok I know it’s a last-year sighting… Merlins are rather rare for Lesvos and I enjoyed seeing this really really much- usually I only get to see them 1-2 times a year and, so far, very briefly through my spotting scope below the Kalloni Salt Pans.

Happy new year! Yes, please, keep updating this blog. I don’t have Facebook so I really appreciate this website, especially as I am new to Lesvos and am learning about the good birdwatching sites and the birds.
