The first 5 HOUSE MARTINS (Delichon urbicum) were recorded on 18/2 in Pamfila village (by Eleftheria Pavli) and the very first BARN SWALLOWS (Hirundo rustica) to return to their nest were recorded in Haramida (by house owner Elpa Spathari).
The feature photo is part of a 550-600 MEDITERRANEAN GULLS (Ichthyaetus melanocephalus) in the sea between Petra and Molivos on the evening of 16/2. I pass from the exact road every Saturday and this was a new thing: most probably one of the first passing through flocks for this Spring.
